KZN Innovation Expo launch attended by over 200 delegates from across Mzansi!
AlgoAtWork Robotics Academy made history in June by hosting the inaugural KZN Innovation Technology Expo 2021 at the Richards Bay Technohub. The 2-day Technology extravaganza had over 200 guests from across the country with the Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams delivering a keynote address.
Driven by the spirit of innovation and disruption, The #KZNInnovTechExpo2021's aims are give innovators from the Southern African region an opportunity to showcase their Innovations, demo technologies and prototypes for further development and possible funding opportunities.
The KZNInnovTechExpo2021 further serves as a vehicle to assess the local Innovation ecosystem for the revival of the township economy and provide necessary intervention support through information, collaborations and networking.
The focus was on the use of Innovation and technology to address societal challenges faced by local industry hence the “NDP2030 Innovation Challenge” under the 24-hour long Makerthon consisting of Software Engineering, Computer Sciences, Mechatronics students from universities and colleges who built and developed demo solutions to industrial challenges. They presented them on the final day of the Expo to Minister Stella Ndabeni.
