Alex Dodd (14) is developing a new business model that is unique for domestic markets, micro, small business programmable, an Arduino-driven Object & Colour Sorter. This prototype programmable colour sorter is powered by an open-source Arduino microcomputer that can be programmed by anyone for many different applications and uses to solve societal problems such as sorting out recyclable bottle tops, bread tags, coffee pods, beads etc.


The object sorter will be available on demand to recycling institutions such as small or micro business, and green organizations.


Alex supports positive economic and social empowerment through affordable and accessible innovations. Through ensuring that the sorter is available for domestic and small markets, this solution will bridge the gap of inequality of the haves and the have-nots. This is the small plastic item counter packaging unit of its kind that is targeting domestic and smaller markets. We subscribe to SDG 9, 10 & 11.
